The situation
- The Weave platform was three AngularJS applications that had to move to modern Angular.
- The work was a refactor and migration, not a visual redesign.
- Developers were not all enabled equally, and the dev lead lost time bringing others up to speed.
What we did
Discovery phase
Two Angular Google Developer Experts led a two-week discovery, including a new app shell that uses NgRx.
Migration blueprint
We delivered a conceptual blueprint for build, deploy and an Angular app template, plus a plan of epochs and stories for the first app.
Code review and spikes
We reviewed code and ran exploratory spikes to test the approach.
Team enablement
An architect trained the client dev lead and developers in Angular best practices, with code reviews.
The result
- The client made progress on the first of its three AngularJS applications.
- Its leadership approved a further three-week enablement engagement.
- The client asked for the same strategic lead to return.
