Briebug watches the work as it is actually done, and records what it costs in a written baseline you and Briebug sign. We then build an AI agent that runs in parallel with your people until it hits the accuracy you agreed on. The tasks that fit best include invoice and billing reconciliation, document processing, recurring report generation, routing and classification, order and inventory updates, and checking that two systems agree. If a task does not carry enough hours to pay for itself, we tell you before you spend anything.

Do not automate a process that changes very frequently, that runs a handful of times, that should be eliminated rather than sped up, or that a purpose-built software product already handles well. Automating a broken process makes it broken faster. Briebug applies those tests during process selection, and says so when the honest answer is that nothing qualifies yet, or that fixing the upstream cause is worth more than automating the symptom.

Where those figures only live in somebody's memory, the first step is measuring rather than building. Briebug helps determine which processes are ready for automation and helps document a baseline with the client before any development starts, and says so when a process does not qualify.

A workflow tool like Zapier moves information between systems when the input arrives in the same format every time. A chatbot answers questions. Briebug builds AI agents for the processes those tools cannot complete, usually because the information arrives as documents and email rather than as clean data. Anything the AI agent was not built to handle goes to a person.

In most cases yes, because Briebug builds AI agents around the software you already run. The larger question is what it is allowed to touch. Briebug builds each AI agent to run beside the current process first, reading only, and it writes nothing into the system of record until the client has watched it work and approved it. The integration risk in the first month is close to zero.

Published US vendor pricing ranges widely. Our review of twenty vendors in 2026 found monthly retainers from about $500 for very light support to $30,000 for a managed program, with builds usually quoted separately. Briebug ranges from $5,000 for small businesses to $25,000 per month for an enterprise. Every engagement carries the same guarantee, that the savings meet or exceed 3X what you pay. The minimum engagement is $5,000 per month for six months.

Both happen, and they are not the same thing. Recovered hours become money in many ways: a hire that no longer needs to happen, overtime or contract labor that stops, a hard cost such as a late payment fee that goes away, mistakes and rework that are eliminated, and deadlines that are no longer missed. Briebug counts direct labor recovered, rework eliminated, and named hard costs avoided.

A written baseline records what a process costs today using figures that come from a system rather than from memory, and both parties agree to it before any development begins. A Briebug baseline records the trigger, who does the work, that person's loaded hourly cost, hands-on minutes per occurrence, monthly volume averaged over the prior 90 days, the share that comes back wrong, and the minutes to correct one error. Any figure that is still an estimate is marked as one, and the baseline is rebuilt after 30 days of real data.

How long it takes to get an AI automation running depends on the complexity of the process, but the goal is to have an AI agent up and running in two weeks or less once Briebug has identified the process and understands exactly how the work gets done. The agent then runs side by side with your team for a short period while they keep doing the work as they do today. Briebug compares the agent's results against the decisions your people actually make, and the agent takes over only once its results match at the accuracy you agreed on.

The main commitment is meeting with the people who actually do the work, so they can walk Briebug through the process and what they do at each step, and then giving Briebug access to the systems and documents the agent needs. While the agent runs side by side with your team, they simply keep doing the work as usual. Briebug also trains one named person on your side to own the automation, and the hours are agreed before the engagement starts rather than discovered during it.

Briebug builds a fallback into every agent. Anything that does not meet the criteria the agent was built for is routed to someone on your team to handle, and the reason is logged. Briebug then uses those logs to teach the agent the new case. For example, when an invoice cannot be processed the usual way, Briebug asks the person who normally handles it what they do in that situation, and builds that into the agent so it can handle that case going forward. The number of items handed back appears on the monthly report, so it is visible rather than something you have to ask about.

Briebug automates processes, not roles, and the recovered hours belong to the company to redeploy as it chooses. In practice the hours usually go to work that was already being pushed to next week, or they absorb growth that would otherwise require a hire. Automation gives businesses the ability to put their skilled team members to work on things that only they can do.

Ownership of a custom automation depends on what the agreement says, and by default it usually stays with the company that built it. Briebug transfers the automation and everything needed to run it to the client at the end of the six-month term, along with its documentation and a written record of how the process runs. Continued monitoring and improvement is optional and priced separately.
